Welcome to the 2026 Season!

Time Trials are complete, and it's now officially swim season!  The Hurricanes are competing in MCSL Division D, along with teams from Connecticut Belair, Kentlands, Northwest Branch, Potomac, and Tallyho.  Our first meet is scheduled for June13th at Tallyho.  A summary of our upcoming events is listed below.  For the full list, check out the Meets & Events page.

In addition, we have a fundraiser at the California Tortilla in Olney on Wednesday (June 10th) from 11 to 9:30.  It's a great night to skip dinner at home, get in some afternoon practice, and let CalTort do the cooking!

  • June 13: Our first A meet at Tallyho
  • June 19: Morning practice starts

Welcome Back Hurricanes!

Since 1991, the Hallowell Hurricanes Swim Team has provided young people the chance to experience competitive swimming in a fun environment. All members of the Hallowell and Lake Hallowell community pools between the ages of 4-18 can join. In addition to offering competitive swimming, the team has three important goals:

  1. To provide competent coaching so that swimmers can improve their skills and better enjoy the sport.
  2. To help swimmers develop self-discipline and self-pride as they assume the responsibilities of belonging to a team and working with others.
  3. To encourage family participation and sharing in the fun and excitement of the meets and other activities.

Each year more and more team members choose to swim year-round because of their positive summer experience with the Hurricanes. Our team is proud of the large number of families we have exposed to the great sport of swimming.
